song in Billboard's Top 40 Pop Charts,
songs of note and well-known hits that did not even
make the Billboard Pop Charts.
Hot Pop Songs/PCM Charts are based on DJ requests and online suggestions.
Some songs are listed in multiple years because some
charts list the
'release date' as the official date, while others
list the chart 'peak date.'
Compromising that data, we try to list songs for the
year they saw the most chart action.
